This past Thursday, Friday and Saturday night(April, 22, 23, &24)my schools fashion show was on display for the marymount community. Potfolio in Motion is a student run program that allows student designers to display their works of art and allows the merchadisers to show their creativity with staging, lighting, deisnge publications ect. The title of the show was "All Dolled Up" and the theme was centered around dolls.
Each year Marymount's fashion department gives the pretiguis designer the award for deigner of the year. The award is awarded to a well established deisgner who has made an impact the fashion industry. This year the award was given to Isabel Toledo. Isabel Todeldo and her husband Ruban Todelo attended the fashion show and Mrs. Toledo gladly accepted her award.
The couple meet with the deigners and gave them great feedback on their designs. There were about 15 senior lines the were critiqued. Mrs.Toledo expressed how important fashion is becuase it deal with art and the natural human structure.
At the end of the show Mrs. Toledo gave great recognition to the merchandisiers for putting on a great show. She said she loved the stage, which the merchandisers were thrilled about! The student merchandisers usually don't get recognized as much as the student designers, so this was a great night!
